Member Code of Conduct

Last Updated: 8 July 2026

Building a Community of Trust

Australian Fowl Exchange was created by a breeder, for breeders.

Our goal is to build a welcoming, respectful and knowledgeable community where poultry and avian enthusiasts can share information, buy and sell responsibly, and support one another.

This Member Code of Conduct outlines the standards we ask every member to uphold when using Australian Fowl Exchange.

Respect Each Other

Treat every member with courtesy and respect.

Healthy discussion is encouraged.

Personal attacks, harassment, bullying, discrimination or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

Remember that behind every account is a real person with a genuine interest in birds.

Be Honest

Represent yourself, your birds and your breeding program honestly.

Do not knowingly provide false or misleading information in your breeder profile, listings or communications.

Trust is one of the most valuable things we can build together.

Put Animal Welfare First

Australian Fowl Exchange supports responsible animal husbandry.

Members are expected to:

  • Care for birds appropriately.
  • Breed responsibly.
  • Promote good welfare practices.
  • Comply with relevant Australian animal welfare laws.

The welfare of birds should always come before profit.

Buy and Sell Responsibly

If you choose to buy or sell through contacts made via Australian Fowl Exchange:

  • Communicate honestly.
  • Describe birds and eggs accurately.
  • Honour agreed arrangements whenever possible.
  • Resolve disputes respectfully.

Australian Fowl Exchange provides a platform for members to connect but is not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers.

Respect Intellectual Property

Please respect the work of other breeders, photographers, writers and content creators.

Do not copy photographs, articles or other material without permission.

Likewise, please respect the intellectual property of Australian Fowl Exchange.

Share Knowledge Generously

One of the strengths of the poultry community has always been members helping one another.

We encourage members to:

  • Share experience.
  • Offer constructive advice.
  • Welcome newcomers.
  • Celebrate each other’s successes.

Everyone starts somewhere.

Protect the Community

If you become aware of:

  • Fraudulent behaviour
  • Scam activity
  • Animal welfare concerns
  • Harassment
  • Fake breeder profiles

please report the issue to the Australian Fowl Exchange Support team.

Helping protect the community helps protect every member.

Fair Use of Australian Fowl Exchange

Members must not use Australian Fowl Exchange to:

  • Spam other members.
  • Distribute malicious software.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts.
  • Misuse the Breeder Directory.
  • Interfere with the operation of the website.

Consequences

Where necessary, Australian Fowl Exchange may investigate reports of misconduct.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Issue a warning.
  • Remove content.
  • Suspend an account.
  • Cancel a membership.
  • Permanently remove access to Australian Fowl Exchange.

These actions are intended to protect the wider community and maintain the integrity of the platform.

Our Commitment

In return, Australian Fowl Exchange is committed to treating members fairly, respectfully and professionally.

We will continue building a platform that supports Australian poultry and avian breeders through practical software, reliable information and a community built on trust.

Thank you for helping us build a positive, supportive and knowledgeable community.

Together we can make Australian Fowl Exchange a place where breeders of all experience levels feel welcome.
